A Little Bit About Me

Hi, I'm Caroline Brown, the Academic Technology Outreach Librarian at the Pratt Institute Libraries. This is a new position, since I joined the Pratt community last September, so I'm carving it out as I go. I teach a for-credit information literacy class called Beyond Google and provide outreach and instruction for our electronic resources. I also maintain our libraries' blog. This will be my first CIL conference.

Some of My Interests

  • Using the social web to cultivate information competency in college students
  • Using (ideally cheap, open source, and flexible) technology to support active and collaborative learning, especially for visual and kinetic learners
  • Looking at ways information organization systems like OPACs and article databases could be more friendly toward different learning or information seeking styles.
