Page history last edited by Gerard Bierens 2 yrs ago

My name is Gerard Bierens, I'm from Eindhoven (the Netherlands), and visiting CIL for the first time. I'm working for Fontys Hogescholen (or in English; the Fontys University of Applied Sciences). My job description: not sure, but 'library (web)developer/trainer/writer' comes close. Right now I'm in the middle of a project where we hope to find the perfect federated search solution for our Fontys Library Portal. This project is one of the reasons I'm visiting CIL2007, but I'm also working on projects involving weblogs, wiki's, knowledgemanagement, repositories, screencasting and other web/library 2.0 tools.

Over 5 years ago I started my blog weblogzonderhaast.nl (that's Dutch, yes). Every now and then you might see a photo of one of my beautiful kids, but the main topics are libraries, education and technology. I also read a lot of librarian bloggers, some for years, I'm looking forward to meet those of you who are present at CIL. If you want to get in touch with me, have lunch, dinner, a drink during the congress just email or IM me at gerard.bierens[ at ]gmail.com.
