Greetings! I'm Julian. My third Computers in Libraries conference will be less of a home game for me, as we make our return to Crystal City. I am a serials assistant at the Georgetown University Law Library.
Here's what I'll probably be up to...
Sunday
I'm not doing any preconference workshops, but I'll probably be around.
Monday
I really wish I could do that cool magic trick where I'm in two places at once. This day looks very strong. After the keynote, I'll see Kevin Dames present on Web 2.0, and then attend Meredith Farkas's presentation about social software. The afternoon will be very full, so I'll need lunch to prepare (anyone?). Mashups, millennials, gaming, and gadgets should hold my interest. After such an exciting day, I look forward to meeting friends (new and old) at dinner.
Tuesday
I will go to the keynote, as usual. It looks like I'll spend most of the day in Track D (Planning and Managing Digitally), but a few other sessions (especially the panel with the cutting-edge technology leaders) might pull me away. Somehow, I'll squeeze lunch into the day, and, of course, more meet and greet with the exhibitors. Following dinner, I will be sure to check out the InfoTonys / InfoTubeys.
Wednesday
This day is all about innovation -- present and future. I will be checking out what's new with library automation and portals. I will learn how libraries fit into the Internet Era, and figure out how to improve online services through customer interaction. Toward the end of the day, I'll go to a presentation about planning a brand-new library. If anyone's still around, dinner sounds like a great idea.
Thursday
With the sun having set on Computers in Libraries, 22nd edition, it's back to work. See you next year!
